The holiday for lovers is fast approaching! Recalling the countless expensive dinners, flowers, jewelry, clothing, trips and everlasting memories with your significant other, now you’re having a hard time figuring out how to top them and still show that special someone the fire is still burning deep down inside. You’re not alone! Sometimes, it’s the simple things that last forever.
Here's my theme this year: Back to basics. They say food is an intimate act of love. If you don't know how to cook, don't worry. If you can follow directions, you can cook. Find a recipe in a cookbook, or do what we all do and ask Google for a romantic dinner recipe. Some things you don’t want to skip out on is the atmosphere. All it takes is having a kitchen and some sort of table to set for dinner. Flowers are also a must. Pick a color theme to decorate the room with. Make sure candles are on the table and around the room. Later on, dim the lights for a more intimate setting.
Consider surprising that special someone. Cordially invite them to dinner, request that they dress up for the occasion. Once they have arrived, you’ll need a game plan and maybe an ice breaker, because they might be in shock. This might consist of an adult beverage. Make sure you have a fully stocked bar. Knowing your special someone’s favorite drink will get you extra points!
You’re finally in the moment. Make sure you mention how excited you are to celebrate the evening together. Create small talk and make your way towards the dinner table.
Enjoy your evening of dining together. There is no better gift than enjoying someone’s company with privacy and moving at your own pace. Not like when you’re at a restaurant and someone else will be seated at your table right after you leave. If you want to make a memory, this is one way to do it. Be sure to bring your special someone a gift. Remember, simple is better. Be thoughtful.
Every moment, like a movie, must have its own sound track. Now, you can’t play DJ, so consider downloading and setting the Pandora app to the H.E.R. station, one of my favorite stations and one of my favorite up-and-coming artists. If you can’t find her music, I posted her latest song below. Happy Valentines Day from Dandy G!
